CNC Programmer-Machinist
We are BPI Medical, and we are looking for an exceptional CNC Programmer-Machinists with 5+ years’ programming experience along with Five (5_) to ten (10_) years of precision machining experience. This position is a highly collaborative partner in a team environment. The successful candidate will be one who demonstrates the ability to work with team members, management, quality control. We are looking for a talented CNC Programmer-Machinist to work on our state-of-the-art equipment.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Use Mastercam to create CNC programs for mills and lathes.
- Set up, adjust, and operate CNC mills and Lathes along with any other necessary equipment according to setup documentation and or work instruction.
- Verify set ups by measuring positions, checking tool length offsets and or fixturing.
- Solid understanding of G and M codes.
- Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine the need for adjustments or repairs. Report findings to supervisors
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Effectively use precision measurement tools, such as height gauges, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, dial indicators, gauge blocks, sine plates, sine bars, indexing heads, rotary tables, coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), and Vision Systems.
- Measure completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Perform all form, fit, functional, and performance tests required.
- Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Perform preventative maintenance and daily machine shop tasks.
- Confer with engineering, shop management, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical and tie in information.
- Able to stay on task and work with minimal supervision.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Willing to learn new equipment such as 5th axis, Wire EDM, Swiss and Mill-Turn
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED
- Five (5) years of CNC programming experience using Mastercam software
- Five (5_) to ten (10_) years of precision machining experience within a manufacturing / job shop environment.
- Experience with the following Machines (Operating, Setting up, at Machine Edits):
- Mills, 3 and 4 Axis
- Laths
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the following Machines (programming and or Operating, Setting-up, at Machine Edits):
- Camplete verification software
- Matsuura 5 axis
- EDM Wire
- CNC Citizen Swiss
- CNC DMG Mori NLX 1500
- Advanced manual mill and lathe abilities
- Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of G&M code, GD&T, measurement tools, Shop math, and blueprint reading is required.

- Expected hours: 40 per week.
- Shift: Days with some weekends as needed

Physical Demands:
Vision correctable to 20/20 with full-color spectrum recognition is required to discern small variances in measurement, material, and quality. This position must be able to determine variations visually and physically within tolerances. Predominantly required to sit, stand, walk, as part of the daily routine. Based upon the relationship to manufacturing and production, the ability to move or transport goods and materials, up to 40 pounds is required.
