TITLE: Subrogation Specialist I - Fully Remote (39791)

LOCATION: REMOTE
HOURS: 8-5 Monday- Friday
Hourly Rate: $17.00
The Subrogation Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting in the recovery of subrogation claims typically from insurance carriers and self-insured entities. The incumbent, evaluates, validates, reviews, maintains and closes claim files working toward cost effective resolutions. The Subrogation Specialist supports more tenured Specialists, handles the setup of the claims, completes the SCP, sends out the demands, will make follow up calls to the OIC's, process mail and releases, etc. Cases are managed in accordance with state regulations and prescribed recovery best practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond promptly and professionally to client, insured, and carrier requests and to other incoming calls.
- Review files using a diary system in order to handle correspondence. Review and document all mail.
- Process letters and authority requests.
- Process carrier to carrier subrogation files in varying lines of business including auto medical and uninsured.
- Gather claim information based on information and liability factors. Determine claim amounts and review subrogation.
- Research the application of laws and statutes as it applies to specific claims in each state.
- Review files for adequacy of investigation and measure of damages to determine whether to pursue arbitration, collection or litigation.
- Prepare and review the initial content of each file while documenting and tracking all ongoing verbal and written correspondence in the AS400 system as well as applicable client systems
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years of proven subrogation or claims experience that includes substantial exposure to carrier to carrier claims is preferred
- Ability to type 30 WPM with 85% accuracy
- Previous experience using Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work independently and interact well within a team environment
- Strong analyzing techniques
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Job Type: Contract
Pay: Up to $17.00 per hour
