Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Surgical Unit Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The Surgical Unit RN will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures and post-operative recovery in our Surgical Unit. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures, including pre-operative assessment, intraoperative support, and post-operative recovery.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists, to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Assess patients' surgical readiness, review medical histories, and ensure appropriate pre-operative preparations are completed.
- Assist with surgical procedures by providing instrumentation, monitoring patients' vital signs, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
- Monitor patients' post-operative recovery, assess for complications, and initiate appropriate interventions as needed.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and other treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, post-operative care instructions, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, surgical safety practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize care delivery.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse License
- - Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- Experience Required for RN Resident: Graduation from an accredited nursing program and is newly licensed with 12 months of experience or less
- Experience Required for Acute Care RN: At least 1 year of Nursing experience
