We are seeking an exceptionally well-qualified and inspirational EMS leader that will take the reins of our EMS Division and usher it through the next phase of its development. The Division Chief of EMS is responsible for the strategic leadership and tactical management of every aspect of our high-performance EMS program. We expect this new member of our team to work daily to keep our agency on the forefront of EMS service delivery, patient-centric clinical care and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:
- The Division Chief of EMS is an executive employee whose primary duty is the management and efficient operation of the District's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program, including all aspects of the day-to-day administration and operation of the EMS Program and evaluating, developing, maintaining and continually improving high-quality, cost-effective and efficient delivery of EMS by the District and its personnel.
Experience & Minimum Qualifications:
- At least three years’ experience as a Captain or equivalent with a fire-based or other EMS agency with a history of progressive and proactive program development.
- Preferred – experience as a chief officer or executive leader of a similar sized (or larger) fire-based or other EMS agency with a history of progressive and proactive program development.
- Thorough knowledge of the legislative, regulatory, and compliance environment pertaining to EMS, including agency licensure, provider certification, medical direction, quality management, HIPAA compliance, billing practices and controlled substance program management.
- Knowledge of regional preparedness and planning organizations pertaining to EMS.
- Effective personnel management skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Possess a bachelor's or associate's degree in Fire Science, Business, Public Administration, or related field, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities for the position.
- Possess and maintain, or obtain within 2 years of hire or appointment, CPSE CEMSO or equivalent chief officer credential.
- Possess and maintain an unrestricted state issued driver's license and acceptable driving record. Obtain state of Colorado license within 90 days of hire.
- Possess and maintain Colorado Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (or obtain within 90 days of hire), ACLS and CPR certifications or licenses in accordance with applicable medical protocols.
- Possess National Fire Academy N.I.M.S. program certifications in ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800.

Pay: Up to $195,384.04 per year
