Part-time Worker
Assembly, Resize, Fabrication and Finishing
As a part-time and/or summer worker, you will be assigned to work rotationally floating in the Assembly/Resize, Fabrication, Finishing and other departments as assigned. Trainers will assist in the learning process.
Assembly/Resize
-
Assembles/Resizes parts, such as handles, blades, gears, or springs to assemble firearm magazines.

Resizes parts using gauges to analyze the different dimensions of the parts to meet customer specifications.

Positions parts together, following guides such as holes, edges, and prongs.
- Inspects assembled parts for quality and accuracy.
Air Press Notcher
-
Checks the Air Press Notcher to ensure that the machine is ready for use.
-
Checks the die to ensure that the correct tool matches the production run per customer requirements.

Ensures there is no debris in the Air Press Notcher by wiping or blowing it out with air hose to remove any metal, tabs and/or trash.
-
Lubricates the Air Press using a lubrication solution.
Welder
-
Welds or tack-welds overlapping edges of positioned components to fabricate sheet metal assemblies, such as magazine tubes used for the firearm industry.

Operates welder (s) by placing the magazine tube inside of the welder.
- Activates the welder by pressing the start button and monitoring the time to weld the part.
Black Oxide
-
Interfaces with controls to start, stop and run equipment.
-
Ensures that water valves are turned on or off, as needed.
-
Verifies liquid levels within plating tanks.
-
Moves racks from one end of the line to the other.
-
Cleans racks between individual plating tanks.
Tumbling
-
Evaluates the quality of products being tumbled. Understands and can recognize acceptable quality standards.

Identifies if equipment is not operating properly by evaluating all contributing factors and determining the best path forward to keep the line running and minimizing the creating of reworked parts.

Loads the tumblers with magazine parts to meet specified run schedule.

Assists in cleaning the equipment.
Minimum Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age and/or enrolled in the Work Based Learning Program (Thomas County or Thomasville City Schools)

Work Shifts:
Candidates can choose the following shifts:

20 hours per week

Monday through Friday (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
