Job Summary:
The primary purpose of the Smoking Monitor is to provide each resident with a safe smoking environment. Monitor residents during smoking hours.
Duties & Responsibilities

Chart and keep track of cigarette count for each resident.

Clean cigarette cart. Update and organize smoking books.

If assigned to be on direct monitoring, make sure you are always within arm reach of your 1:1 at all times

Ensuring supervision of patients at all times. Providing patients with emotional support.

Refraining from performing additional, unauthorized functions (patient care, changing, showering, toileting, ADL Care).

Detecting changes in condition of patients. Alerting nursing and/or social service staff when patients need help. Maintaining Close observation sheets daily.

Maintaining confidentiality of patient information. Adhering to relevant policies, procedures and standards.

Make beds on the floor you are assigned to.

Make rounds on the unit. Checking rooms for smokers, well-being checks. Check bathroom for smokers.

Pass out ice and hygiene product.

Be visible in the milieu

Monitor Dining room during mealtime.

Relieve other psych tech for all breaks.
-
Cleaning out bedside table, assisting with the upkeep of resident's personal space.

Monitor the smoke patio during smoke times.
-
During smoke times, assist with passing cigarettes, as necessary.
Assist with stocking of supplies.
