We are currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant located in Gastonia, NC. This position will be responsible for assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under Physician direction.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinates patient movement and transport from general waiting room to required treatment area, assisting patient as necessary while delivering chart to nursing staff
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height; records information on patient charts
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
- Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments/equipment as necessary
- Hands instruments/materials to Physician when necessary
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments in accordance to approved OSHA guidelines and procedures
- Inventories and orders medical supplies/materials
- Keys data into computer system to maintain office and patient records
- Acts as backup to Front Office staff when necessary
- Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Completion of 2-year program for Medical Assisting (Program must be AAMA Accredited)
- Current certification or registration as Medical Assistant preferred
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, staff members and Physicians
- 3-5 years clinical experience preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
