Shin-Etsu Silicones of America, Inc. is looking to add a full-time Quality Control Lab Technician to perform and document product testing. Items tested include a wide variety of materials used in various industries including: aerospace, automotive, medical supply, cosmetics, and electronics, just to name a few.

Responsibilities include:
- Test silicone products, raw materials, and developmental samples according to test methods
- Accurately document and report results
- Operate and maintain testing equipment (use of a two-roll mill and heated presses/ovens is to be expected)
- Coordinate with coworkers to complete team’s workload
- Maintain clean and organized shared workspaces
- Observe all safety procedures and use of PPE
- Write or improve procedures as needed
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education:
Preferred consideration will be given to candidates with the following:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related science
- 2 or more years working in a chemical and/or physical testing laboratory
- Experience with testing polymers, silicones, or other plastics
Work Environment:
- This position operates in a Quality Control Laboratory.
- The role routinely uses physical, chemical, optical, and electrical testing instrumentation and material processing equipment including presses and 2-roll mill.
P*hysical Demands:*
- Stands or walks around lab 6hrs/day or more.
- Works near or with mechanical and computerized equipment.
- Handles chemicals, including organic solvents, acids and bases.
