BASIC PURPOSE: The primary purpose of this position is:
Responsible for handling all on line shopping orders from the time of receipt to customer pick up: Includes receiving the customer’s on-line shopping orders and then accurately selecting, scanning and packing each customer’s order. In addition, Associate is responsible for auditing selected orders for accuracy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Primary accountability for specific functions and results)
1. Providing quality customer service is an essential component of every position within Giant/Martin's Food Stores.
Each position serves its own group of customers, which may consist of consumers, co-workers, vendors and business associates. As much care should be given to handling our internal "customers", as the ultimate consumer.
2. While working in our home shopping facilities, the Associate is responsible for accurately selecting, scanning and packing of customer purchases.
3. Maintain proper sanitary conditions, to include: sweeping, mopping, organizing, removing trash, cleaning and sanitizing of all work surfaces, utensils and equipment.
4. Knowledge of the product lines within the store by department. Also a solid understanding of quality standards for our perishables is needed.
5. Adhere to all food safety standards, policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations.
6. Maintain neat, attractive condition within work area and properly maintain all product until the customer has picked up their order.
7. Maintain strong attention to detail and work in a fast paced environment. Maintain the integrity of the products picked for the customer’s order.
8. Dress according to company policy and maintain a neat, clean appearance at all times.
9. Responsible for communicating problem areas and handling distressed merchandise with the COM or Manager on
Duty.
10. Ensures all pricing updates are accurately reflective of what customer was quoted during their on-line shopping experience.
11. Responsible for managing and updating inventory on the internet (ie: noting out of stocks, etc).
12. Responsible for writing Associate schedules for department and submitting to the COM for approval.
13. Responsible for conducting audits on selected orders prior to customer pick up.
14. Proficient operation of scanner, cash register, scale and computer.
15. Accurate in handling of money, checks and other media, and able to distinguish between various denominations of currency.
16. Properly bag customer orders and place those orders into the customer’s car.
17. Maintain security and minimize losses through awareness of pricing errors, coupons, payments, etc.
18. Promotes customer goodwill by demonstrating a high degree of professionalism when dealing with customer questions, returns, refunds, etc.
19. Train and mentor other Associates assigned to work in the department. May also provide training support to selected store level management trainees.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: To competently perform at a proficient level and be fully qualified, a person would be expected to have:
1. Education (Minimum Needed): High School Diploma or equivalent desired.
2. Experience (Minimum Needed): 1 -2 years store operation experience preferred

(picking) and packing process of customer’s on-line orders. These duties involve frequent lifting of 20 lbs up to 50 lbs. The
Incumbent will be utilizing the following machines: scanner.

Incumbent must have an adequate understanding of Giant/Martin’s values and mission statement. Additionally, Incumbent must have extensive knowledge of the products we carry within the store, rotation process, culling process, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMAND ANALYSIS
