The Compounding Technician is responsible for lab functions that may include formula and compounding record preparation, and compounding and labeling a variety of non-sterile compounded medications in a state of the art facility. All duties are performed efficiently and accurately under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The Compounding Lab Technician demonstrates a commitment to the mission of the Pharmacy and goals of Belmar Pharma.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable pharmacy rules and regulations
- Follow all policies and procedures set forth by Belmar Pharma
- Strong comprehension of USP 795 and USP 800
- Have a strong working knowledge of pharmacy software.
- Enter new compounds into dispensing pharmacy software
- Prioritize and prepare formula and compound records
- Compound medications accurately and efficiently
- File necessary paperwork
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties
- Assist in initial and continuous training of staff
- Pull outdated medications for destruction
- Restock supplies and keep pharmacy neat and orderly
- Maintain compliance with Company and HIPAA patient confidentiality requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned including, but not limited to: Perform inventories and ordering, assist in finding, stopping, expediting specific orders, project work
