Reports to: Registered Nurse
Description of Position:
The LVN assists in administering the nursing services program, to meet the needs of each participant particularly in administering medications or monitoring of self-administration of medications by the participants; the use of measures to protect the participant from injury to self; and determining and providing the needs of the participant for personal care such as bathing, grooming, toileting and eating. The LVN must obtain tuberculosis (TB) clearance and health examinations within 7 days of employment. Also, obtain first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification within the first six months of employment.
Qualifications:
The LVN shall be a person licensed as such by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the registered nurse so that the individual plan of care developed by the multidisciplinary team is accomplished and effectively carried out.
- Document all skilled nursing care provided on the day the service is given and include flow sheets and progress notes in each participant record.
- Maintenance of the participant’s health record which includes signed quarterly progress notes from registered nurses, records of medication and treatments, and progress nursing notes when a participant’s condition requires a more frequent note indicating participant’s progress toward achieving health goals.
- Assist in establishing a provision for emergency care including transportation.
- Administer medications or monitor self-administration of medication by the participants, and documenting the administration of the medications under RN supervision.
- Notify RN of any marked change in the participant’s condition.
- Uphold the purpose and philosophy which the ADHC operation is committed to achieve as reflected in the mission statement adopted by the corporation
- Perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with company established policy, rules and regulations.
- Bilingual (spoken and/or written) in Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese)
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse.

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
