The Rising Sun Restaurant Cafe & Bistro doesn’t fit the normal pattern of an established restaurant, turnkey franchise operation, or even a traditional new restaurant. It is part of the culinary experience pillar of The Obscure Distilling and Membership Club offering.
Our Line Cook has the opportunity to contribute to building the culinary pillar in our overall experience. Since we are a start-up, our line cook must have strong skills in establishing kitchen culture, giving feedback on systems, and overall operations in collaboration with the Head Chef and kitchen team.
Collaboration is central to creating a cohesive, high-performing organization that maintains consistency and creatively solves problems.
We seek to create an alternative working culture that counters the standard toxicity of the bar and restaurant industry. Our line cook has a unique opportunity to help redefine restaurant work to be inclusive for the whole restaurant team. In addition, we have a laboratory for culinary experimentation through special and member event menus while maintaining a highly desirable window service menu.
Our Line Cook is a responsible kitchen team member who executes all restaurant food preparation cooking activities and kitchen operations in alignment with the standard operating procedures that support the event and service patterns of our spirits tasting experiences, special events, member nights, and window service to the general public.
