The timeline for this role spans from as soon as possible through October of this year, and then from May through October of 2025. The project involves the development of a resort located at the base of Big Sky.

General Description:
The Field Engineer is responsible for managing and overseeing various aspects of construction projects to ensure efficient operations and adherence to project timelines and budgets. This position involves a range of administrative, coordination, and oversight duties, including safety compliance, quality control, subcontractor management, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee daily project reports and documentation.
- Conduct safety walks and inspections, including scaffold reviews, PPE reviews, and Controlled Zone upkeep.
- Coordinate inspections and maintain up-to-date inspection and photo logs.
- Perform QA/QC data entry and manage construction red-lines.
- Coordinate site cleaning, traffic control, signage, material runs, and other site duties.
- Assist in generating contracts for owners and subcontractors under the direction of the project manager and legal counsel.
- Obtain necessary permits from governing authorities.
- Qualify and contact subcontractors to bid on specific trade items; schedule and manage bid submissions.
- Create project budgets, manage budget adjustments, change orders, invoices, RFIs, and schedules.
- Ensure quality control throughout the project duration.
- Collaborate with project manager and superintendent to address production and quality control issues.
- Obtain plans and specifications from owners/architects and interpret them to determine construction requirements.
- Document projects through site inspections, photos, meeting minutes, take-offs, and other methods.
- Assist project manager in developing project scopes of work.
- Compile cut sheets, color selections, manufacturer’s warranties, test data, shop drawings, etc.
- Monitor work progress and construction sites; report any issues to project manager and superintendent.
- Ensure timely completion and accuracy of all required reports and records.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, sit in front of a computer, and work in confined spaces.
- Capability to drive, climb ladders and stairs, work at heights over 6 feet, kneel, crouch, stoop, twist, reach, push, pull, and grasp frequently.
- Willingness to work more than 40 hours per week as necessary and ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and project management software.
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to customer service.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, exercise independent judgment, and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and knowledge of construction methods and safety regulations.
Experience:
- Previous experience in the reconstruction industry is preferred, but not required.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associates degree in construction science, construction management, or equivalent work experience.
