Zoom Technology Arizona is a closed-access fiber network provider. We deploy Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network infrastructure nationwide in specific neighborhoods and Fiber-to-the-Business (FTTB). We construct, operate, and maintain the fiber network infrastructure. Our goal is to expand the business across the U.S., providing high-speed internet access and facilitating the digital transformation of underserved communities.
PURPOSE FOR THE ROLE
We are looking for a motivated Field Service Technician that can work with little direction to ensure the high quality of customer service. As a Field Service Technician your primary responsibility is following up on home (FTTH) and business/commercial (FTTx) fiber installations. You will be in charge of customer engagement and satisfaction ensuring their high speed wireless/WiFi enabled service is operational. This requires you to proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and report concerns so corrective actions are taken as it relates to installations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contact customers and site managers to ensure installation satisfaction

Ensure proper site operation; inspecting cable and electrical equipment

Undertake all customer support tasks in-field

Operate efficiently to conclude all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test activities

Guarantee that the work progress accurately follows the agenda

Perform troubleshooting and strive to resolve issues

Produce frequent and analytical service reports

Operate vehicle in a safely manner and use field automation systems

Adhere to company’s given rules and regulations

Team up with colleagues and pass on important information

Discern customer needs and offer advice or recommendations

Clean-up after customer installation: removing boxes, pieces of cable, and sheetrock dust

Complete detailed activity log, and other reports/documentation
-
Provide prompt response to network issues; conduct preventative or proactive network repair outside of normal business hours when required

Perform fiber optic splicing, testing, analysis, and repair on new and active fiber optic networks

Assist with additional fiber network construction activities
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Arizona driver’s license with clean MVR
-
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification, a plus

Three (3) years experience as a Technician or related role

Ability to manage and preserve technical equipment

Accustomed to using mobile tools and applications
-
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
-
Ability to multi-task and effective problem-resolution skills
-
Experience in Telecommunications, Internet Service Provider, or Wireless industry is a plus.

Fluent Spanish or other languages is a plus
-
Demonstrates good judgement and can work with minimal supervision
-
Adaptable to outdoor environment and weather conditions.

Ability to sit, stand, bend, walk, stoop, climb as well as properly lift up to 65 pounds unassisted and utilize small hands and power-tools

Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with Company and OSHA established safety policies and requirements
-
Knowledge of and ability to follow NESC and other state and local safety conditions are a must
