FOH Managers are needed for AM and PM/Closing Shifts
City Diner is a fast casual, high volume restaurant, serving American cuisine in busy Downtown Jersey City.
We are seeking a talented industry professional who is as passionate as we are about creating an amazing dining experience for our guests. Our classic & eclectic cocktails and delicious home made food must be accompanied by a great staff & lead by incredible managers.
The right candidate will have had prior leadership & management experience in a high volume restaurant, along with exceptional communication, professional conduct, and a collaborative spirit.
The right candidate must be able to train newly hired servers, bartenders, bussers, and hosts on their required duties, including industry standard Restaurant Steps of Service and the standards and requirements of City Diner. These standards will be maintained and supported by all levels of management.
Day to day duties include but are not limited to:
∙35-40 Hours weekly (standard)
∙Supervision of all FOH staff members, customers and situations that may arise
∙Guest relations
∙Employee relations
∙Responsible for supporting FOH Training Server, Busser, Host, Cashier
∙Post shift responsibilities to be conducted at the end of each shift, every day during shift overlap with proper reporting or documenting and briefing immediately afterwards
∙Ensure staff follows proper steps and procedures for their job role
∙Working and communicating closely with store managers and members of the management team in order to provide update and resolution on store issues and conditions and to effectively resolve situations
∙Perform daily and weekly house-keeping duties
∙Perform scheduled and unscheduled house-keeping and/or maintenance duties
∙Perform equipment up-keep, maintenance and report repair needs when necessary
∙Ensure proper food & beverage quality and plate presentation from prep to kitchen to table to customer (the whole process)
∙End-of-shift register reconciliation and daily cash handling
∙Ensure that store opens on time and is fully staffed
∙Ensure that all BOH and FOH employees have completed all their at the end of their shifts and have properly punched out (AM Shifts and PM/Closing Shifts)
∙Provide EXCELLENT communication with members of Management and Peers
∙Provide EXCELLENT communication with Upper Management and Owners
∙Required Certifications and Point of Sale/Technology Requirements
∙ServSafe Certification (Manager Level Certification required)
∙Alcohol Awareness Training
∙POS Experience (Micros or Restaurant Manager preferred)
∙Online Ordering Platform Experience (Modern platforms, such as GrubHub, UberEats, DoorDash, etc.)
∙Open Table Experience
∙Hotschedules Scheduling Software or similar Web/App based Scheduling Software experience
∙Functional and working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
