Quality Control Inspector Job Summary
ALSPI is a high-tech manufacturing company with over 220 employees, operating for 43 years, near Oxford, Alabama. We are seeking two skilled Quality Control Inspectors with a strong background in manufacturing and quality control to function as Q.C. inspectors to inspect and report on materials and products using variable or attribute measuring instruments and techniques to ensure conformance with the company’s ISO 9001 quality standards. One position is for a *Calibration Technician and the other position will work in our Laser Cladding and Paint Line departments.

Quality Control Inspector Education and/or Experience:
- HS Diploma (preferred) or GED. Associates degree or equivalent in an appropriate related field (desired).
- Minimum of five year's of relevant experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with welding and/or welding inspection is beneficial.
- Experience with paint/powder coat process is beneficial.
Pay commensurate with education/experience.
*Calibration Technician / Quality Control Inspector Essential Responsibilities:
Maintains the company’s equipment calibration program, as well as assists with Quality Control Inspections in various areas as detailed in the description for “Quality Control Inspector".
- Maintain current calibration of all calibrated equipment within the company.
- Perform calibration to documented procedures.
- Maintain calibration records and calibration procedures.
- Interface with external calibration suppliers.
Quality Control Inspector Essential Responsibilities:
- Analyzes the job specifications and requirements to determine what attributes need to be measured or tested.
- Collects product samples for inspection.
- Positions or connects parts or instruments for inspection or operation.
- Performs finale inspection on products and evaluates information against standards.
- Uses instruments and specialized equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gage pins and etc.
- Interacts with department supervisors, managers and engineering to ensure the actions taken are appropriate.
- Prepares test and inspection reports.
- Performs administrative tasks, such as entering data into computer databases, scanning and filing material test reports.
- Works directly with production and sales on quality issues pertaining to their parts.
To be successful as a Quality Control Inspector with ALSPI, you:
- Demonstrate Knowledge of quality systems and experience with QA/QC processes.
- Have basic understanding of ISO 9001 Standards.
- Demonstrate functional knowledge of weldments and welding techniques.
- Demonstrate ability to read blueprints and drawings.
- Demonstrate ability to use a variety of inspection tools and equipment.
- Possess familiarity with methods, tools and processes used in metal fabrication.
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Are technical and detailed oriented.
- Capable of setting up and / or programming CMM / FARO / Virtek / Keyence automated measuring equipment.
- Possess good analysis, interactive problem solving, teamwork, decision-making and integration skills.
- Ability to interact with customers and suppliers in a professional manner.
- Demonstrate good computer skills, utilizing Microsoft Suite.
