Job Summary:
This position is primarily based at our location in Staten Island, NY. The position will be shared on a limited basis with our Clinton Hill location near Downtown Brooklyn. The successful candidate should have the ability to travel between locations on a scheduled basis.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ABA Therapist to join our team. As an ABA Therapist, you will work in a Special Education preschool setting with individuals 2.5 - 5 years old, with developmental disabilities to implement behavior intervention plans and provide support in various settings. Your role will be crucial in helping individuals achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
Duties:
- The ABA Therapist will conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess individual needs and develop personalized treatment plans
- The ABA Therapist will implement behavior intervention plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles
- Provide one-on-one therapy sessions to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Collect and analyze data to track progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans
- The ABA Therapist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including parents, caregivers, and other professionals
- Assist in the development of individualized education plans (IEPs) for clients in collaboration with special education teachers
- The ABA Therapist will provide support and guidance to parents and caregivers on implementing strategies at home
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation and records
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of client information
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques
- Familiarity with special education practices and procedures
- Proficient in medical documentation and record keeping
- Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations and assessments
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to developmental disabilities
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data for treatment planning purposes
- Excellent interpersonal skills for working with individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, and other professionals
- Understanding of behavioral health concepts and strategies
- Experience providing behavioral therapy to children with developmental disabilities
