Job Description: We are seeking a talented, compassionate, and collaborative Family Law Associate Attorney to join our esteemed team. The ideal candidate will not only have a passion for helping clients through challenging times but also embody our firm's values of teamwork, professionalism, and personal growth.
Responsibilities:
· Handle a diverse caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, property division, and domestic violence cases
· Provide legal counsel and advice to clients, explaining their rights, obligations, and potential outcomes
· Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and agreements
· Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediation sessions
· Litigate cases in court when necessary, including preparing for and conducting trials
· Stay current with Maryland family law statutes, case law, and procedural rules
· Collaborate closely with partners, associates, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management and holistic client care
· Contribute to the firm's marketing efforts and community outreach
Qualifications:
· Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
· Active member in good standing of the Maryland State Bar
· Experience practicing family law in Maryland is not required as we value cultural fit over years of experience
· Strong knowledge of Maryland family law and court procedures preferred
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Proven negotiation and litigation skills
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
· Compassionate demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
· Proficiency in legal research and writing
· Experience with case management software preferred
