If you want to use your Science knowledge along with your pedagogical expertise and love to teach concepts and skills through content creation, this is THE opportunity for you!
Background
For the past ten years, 240 Tutoring has grown from a small, Texas-based company to a national company with a team of over 45!
We help good people be great teachers. The world needs great teachers. We create products and services that prepare, empower, and inspire them.
More specifically, we help teachers prepare for their certification exams. The curriculum team is a small but mighty force that works closely with qualified content contractors to create study guides. We would like to serve even more educators by hiring a full-time curriculum coordinator to specialize in the Science disciplines. That's where you come in!
Mission
You will be responsible for the existing and new Science curriculum banks and all aligned study guides across levels (pre-k through high school). You will coordinate the development of curriculum, including study materials, videos, flashcards, questions, and visual components.
Core Duties
- Use 240's proprietary software application to build exam-aligned, customer-facing study guides
- Project-manage the Science titles on the roadmap of study guides we are publishing
- Become the internal expert on the scope and style of each Science subject-area exam we support
- Directly support the completion of Science curriculum, including writing and reviewing content
- Evaluate, hire, and manage a team of contract writers
- Provide pedagogical and content knowledge expertise when needed, such as responding to customer-submitted potential errors
- Provide feedback to Product team on application improvements to both internal and customer-facing application functionality
- Contribute to other curriculum projects and materials as time permits
Requirements
- At least 3 years teaching experience
- Advanced proficiency in Science competencies across disciplines, including Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Earth and Space Science
- Eligibility to work within the US as a W2 employee
- Access to a remote working area (we are 100% remote, always)
If this sounds appealing, come join our 100% remote company! This position has very competitive pay with the option of medical and retirement savings benefits. Because the team is small, we don't have the larger benefits of a mid-to-large corporation. But, for the right candidate, our super awesome team, a competitive salary, and potential for growth more than makes up for the lack of diverse benefits.
