Engineering Process & Documentation Technician

The Engineering Process & Documentation Technician ensures New Product detail design process steps are completed and associated documentation are consistently created and delivered on-time to support New Product build readiness. This would include completing the final steps in the detail design process and delivering completed documentation that can be used for both first builds and series production. The role would also be responsible for maintaining that documentation throughout the product’s lifetime.
Job Responsibilities:

CAD modelling of FRP core and backer, creation of flattened CAD files and preparation of digital files for submission to the Millroom.

Develop and deliver Engineering documentation from existing CAD models for all aspects of a vessel to support both initial and series production builds.
- Able to work with and understand the build process of assembling product together.

Ability to work with Design Engineers in the initial stages of the design process.

Ability to work with Process Engineers and Build Teams to ensure documentation is relevant and value-add.

Manage flow of new and updated information from the Design Team to systematically ensure all documentation remains controlled and appropriately updated.

Create and refine templates for future use.
Education and Experience:

Associate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline or a proven track record in a similar role.

Proven ability to work within industry standard CAD packages (e.g., SolidWorks, Catia, ProE) in order to both capture existing design information and create basic new models.

Proven work experience in technical writing and graphics would be advantageous.

Direct experience with MS Office Products.

Proficient Typing and editing skills.

Familiarity with Syteline or comparable MRP system

Attention to detail, with a “get it done” attitude.
