JR Hobbs Commercial Service Project Manager Description
Summary/Objective
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily execution of project team tasks, ensuring customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly responses to service calls, proactive time management, and proper documentation and closeout of all projects. This role also entails accountability for the financial performance of the project team and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
In this role, you will build and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers through effective communication via phone, computer, and face-to-face interactions. Responsibilities include scheduling labor, inspections, and site surveys as requested by customers. You will also coordinate with customers, project teams, vendors, and subject matter experts regarding project tasks and scope. The job can range from moderately to extremely stressful, with an average day being moderately stressful.

· Interpret and implement Service Department policies and procedures as specified by the Director of Commercial Service.
· Regularly review financial reports with the Director of Commercial Service to ensure all goals and objectives are clear, understood, and that a continuous, effective plan is in place to control costs and increase profitability.
· Provide direction and leadership to achieve professional technical services that meet profitability and quality standards.
· Supervise the quality of work performed, ensuring standards of performance are maintained. Engage in discussions with customers, supporting the company’s integrity and reputation regarding equipment and Service Department responsibilities.
· Maintain awareness of the status of current jobs and keep management informed of progress.
· Conduct regular service meetings and training sessions to communicate company objectives and policies, develop technical skills, and encourage co-worker participation and personal growth.
· Assist the Director of Commercial Service in determining project methodologies and job flows to maximize effectiveness, efficiency, and repair quality.
· Maintain all project efficiency and management reports and reporting methods.
· Ensure necessary tools and equipment are available and well-maintained.
· Assist the safety team in ensuring compliance with all OSHA safety guidelines.
· Monitor the progress of the department and individuals on the project team concerning quality and profit goals.
· Handle customer complaints in a friendly and pleasing manner, reporting any issues to the Director of Commercial Service as necessary.
· Conduct pre-bid walkthroughs and develop budgets and sales proposals.

Work Environment
The Commercial Project Manager works both in the corporate office and in the field. Job site visits and customer meetings will be outside of the office.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is mildly physical, requiring regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. Employees must regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift and move more than 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional after-hours customer support may be necessary.
Travel
Occasional overnight travel for training or work may be required (less than 20%).
Required Education and Experience
· High school diploma or GED
· At least 18 years old
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and participate in a drug-free workplace
· Possess a clean driving record and a current driver's license
· Strong, steady work history with a minimum of 3+ years in Commercial HVAC
· Working proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., smartphone, iPad)
· Working proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and various software programs
Preferred Education and Experience
· Associate’s degree in a related field
· PMP Certification or formal PM training
· OSHA 10 Certification
