Position Summary
The Assistant Health Director for Case Management and Health Partnership’s division is to create and maintain a culture of innovation and responsiveness to the physical and behavioral health needs of Mecklenburg County residents by collaborating with law enforcement, provider agencies, consumers and families, the courts, district attorneys, public defenders, advocacy organizations, and community colleges. Current programs include CAP DA, Child Development Services Agency, Maternal Child Health Programs, WIC, and the Trauma and Justice Partnership.

Essential Functions
Display line authority in making decisions on the day-to-day operations of the division.
Serve as an expert in case management and behavioral health support services, maintaining appropriate partnerships to facilitate delivery of the service in the community.
Maintain and develop excellent customer service for Case Management and Health Partnerships Services stakeholders including patients and clients.
Lead efforts to integrate behavioral health into public health services and programs.
Advocate for services of the agency to regulatory bodies and programmatic partners.
Secure ways of supporting programs through strategic partnerships, seeking and acquiring grants, and effective program budget development and management.
Collect and evaluate data to ensure consistent and enduring excellence in health care delivery, developing and applying performance metrics that objectively measure department performance against mission critical goals.
Analyze and solves problems to meet organizational and regulatory standards.
Network with peers in neighboring communities, the state and region to benchmark the organization, identify best practices and leverage resources.
Respond in cases of urgent and/or emergent events that require public health interventions. Employee may be trained for and assigned duties unrelated to their regular work; work outside normal business hours and workdays and/or in a different work location may be required. Emergency events include, but are not limited to, communicable disease outbreaks, severe weather situations (e.g. snow or ice storms, tornados, hurricanes), natural disasters (e.g. earthquakes), fire, or power outages, and acts of terrorism.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of eight years of experience, plus two years of supervisory experience.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Human Services, Public Administration, Nursing, Social Work, Counseling, or related degree.

Licenses and Certifications
May require a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License- May require the ability to obtain and maintain a Mecklenburg County Operator's Permit
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of
Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources- Principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- The structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
- Laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, and agency rules, and the political climate
- Expertise in area of assignment
