Job Title: Senior Accountant CPA/EA

In order to be successful in the role, you will start as an individual contributor for a minimum of 6-12 months. This path has allowed our employees to learn the nitty gritty of what their team does every single day and be better positioned to support a team.
People who have done well in this position:
- Tax managers who want to get off the tax season roller-coaster and work directly with clients
- Self-employed accountants who want to be surrounded by a team and work collaboratively
- Strong accountants who are currently managing a few team members (officially or unofficially) but don’t have any upward mobility at their current firm.
- Accounting Managers who would like the flexibility of remote work
Qualifications for the position:
- You like paying attention to the details and figuring out puzzles.
- You are comfortable spending a big part of your days client-facing.
- You are excited to mentor your team members and see them grow (accounting, tax, analysis, presentation skills, etc)
- You don’t need to micromanage your team, but if they are in the weeds you won’t hesitate to roll up your sleeves and get in the trenches with them
- You are comfortable inspecting what you expect and holding your team accountable for their deliverables
- You love working with clients and having a direct impact on their business
- You have strong technical accounting and critical thinking skills
- You are comfortable enough with tax topics to advise clients. No tax preparation involved, but you will need to advise clients on tax implications of basic situations. For questions that have you stumped, you’ll be able to confer with the tax team.
- When you don’t know the answer, you figure out what it is
- You’re great at juggling multiple priorities and like to stay busy
- You have strong communications skills, both written and verbal
- You are tech-savvy and aren’t afraid to maximize the tools at your disposal
- You love helping people, thinking outside the box, going the extra mile.
- You are confident in your accounting skills, while knowing when to say “let me check on that” in order to give your client accurate information
- You are used to managing competing priorities and adjusting your “to do” list as the day goes on.
- You have the heart of a teacher.
- QBO (Quickbooks Online 3 years recent experience required)
- CPA/EA (Required)
- CPA Firm Experience (2 years required handling multiple clients)

A day in the life of an Accounting Manager:
8am: Check emails, plan the day ahead
9am: Team meeting with your direct reports. Align on priorities, support and troubleshoot any issues, look ahead at the upcoming client meetings and coach as needed.
10: Review monthly reports, analyze the data, assist with higher level client tax questions, review an email drafted by your team member for accuracy and tone, year end book review of several clients.
Noon: lunch break
1pm: client meeting
2pm: Internal meeting with leadership team
3:30pm: client meeting
4:30 email check, review reports for tomorrow’s client meetings, troubleshoot a question with team member
5:45 sign off for the day

Salary: From $65,000 - $75,000 per year with room for advancement as your team grows.
