School Music Teacher
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Day School Principal, Director of Music.
PURPOSE: To serve as a leader in music, striving to fulfill the mission of the church, the school, and the Holy Scriptures (Proverbs 22:6, Matthew 28:19-20, Luke 19:10).
COMPENSATION: 9 month, part-time. Salaried.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Hold a bachelor’s degree in music education or a bachelor’s degree in education with an emphasis in music.
· Ability to lead and direct children’s choirs.
· Keyboard skills adequate to lead choir rehearsal/performance.
· Reflect and commit to the school’s mission, objectives, philosophy, and the overall ministry and well-being of Trinity Lutheran Church and School.
· Be an actively involved member in good standing at a church in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Hold or working towards a WI DPI Music certification.
· Concordia University System trained or willing to commit to the Lutheran Teacher Colloquy.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare and deliver a 4K-8 music program of excellence that meets or exceeds the Trinity Curriculum Framework benchmarks and honors the school mission statement to assist families in the development of the whole child through the power of the Gospel.
2. Develop, prepare and conduct a choir program that is recognized by the congregation and the Central Wisconsin community as an outstanding program in which students are passionate about sharing God’s Word through song.
3. Integrate and teach the Christian faith in all opportunities, as understood through the lens of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
4. Equip children and teens to develop and utilize their musical gifts to the glory of God, by mentoring and encouraging their use in worship, both vocal and instrumental.
5. Seek ways to create and develop new music ministries to take Trinity to the community, recognizing the spiritual impact God’s Word in music can make in the heart of believers and seekers.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Select a variety of developmentally appropriate music, allowing school choirs to be leaders in worship at Trinity.
2. Work closely with the Director of Music to determine leadership of school handbell, choral and instrumental ensembles.
3. Lead choirs in Chapel and Sunday worship, balanced in both worship venues (average of seven times per choir per year – currently 3 in church, 4 in chapel).
4. Work closely with the Director of Music, a faculty committee, and classroom teachers in planning, preparing, and presenting an all-school Christmas worship service (usually the 4th Wednesday in Advent)
5. Work closely with the Director of Music in planning and directing school musical events (Family Fine Arts Night, Talent Show, concerts, etc.).
6. Communicate effectively and through a variety of means with the families and members of Trinity.
7. Work in Christian unity with the Ministerial staff and school 4K-8 team in planning, preparing, and implementing activities for the church and school.
8. Develop with the Principal a plan to ensure your growth as a spiritual, educational, and professional leader of the school and church community.

Pay: $18,000.00 - $21,000.00 per year
