Job Description:
The Teaching Assistant (T.A.) works closely with their assigned instructor(s), the Program Manager, and Program Assistants
The Teaching Assistant will have the following responsibilities:
- Complete all HR paperwork prior to the start of the program (All HR Forms will be issued through Human Resources through Interview Exchange.)

Submit an updated resume and BIO to k12@massart.edu. Please include your name, (planned) graduation year, and the class you are assisting with.

Support the efforts of the Lead Teacher in the classroom

Assist with preparations for the class, including retrieving classroom supplies and returning them to the designated supply storage area

Assist the faculty with critiques and presentations that will take place throughout the program

Attend the planning meeting prior to the program and a Professional Development Workshops (Faculty and teaching assistants who are unable to attend the workshop will be expected to listen to the recording of the workshop.)

Attend check-in meetings as needed and available

Complete classroom attendance within the first 15 minutes of class.

Familiarize yourself with emergency protocols, MassArt facilities, and the Student Vitals

Creative Studios TA's will be responsible for escorting students from Evans Way park to their assigned classroom at the beginning of class.

Creative Studios TA's will be responsible for escorting students back to Evans Way Park at the end of the class period where students will be picked up by an approved adult, parent or guardian.

Assist in "wrap-up" of the program ex. completing end of program survey, ensuring classrooms are left in good condition
Requirements:
Strong leadership, time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills are a must have. High energy and flexibility are important for this position. The teaching assistant should have knowledge and experience working in the medium or mode of art making being taught.
