We are looking to hire a Mechanic/Reefer Technician to join our growing Operations team! The Maintenance Technician performs duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the physical assets of the property as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. If you’re a self-starter, with a strong work ethic, and have a great attention to detail – then we want to hear from you!
While You Are Here You Will:
- Perform repairs and diagnostics on starting and charging systems, cooling and re-charge, and electrical systems including common fault codes on Refrigerated Trailers, in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
- Preventative maintenance and repair of all systems on trucks and semi-trailers to meet the standards set forth by DOT
- Remove and replace brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, bearings, races and associated parts. Repair air systems related to brakes and suspension
- Repair electrical and lighting systems
- Repair or replace chassis components such as springs, spring hangers, equalizers, complete slider assemblies, axles, and sub frames
- Repair mud flap brackets and dolly leg assembles
- Repair or replace flooring, rub rails, doors and door trim
- Repair roofs, panels, nose panels, lower and upper rails
- Conform to all safety and health standards
- Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
- Conduct leak detection procedures, compressor replacements, soldering refrigerant lines, evaporator/condenser replacements and front & rear main engine seal replacements.
Who You Are:
- 3-5 years of experience as a heavy truck/diesel engine mechanic, with some experience in tires and welding, or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record
- Great attention to detail and highly organized
- Intermediate (at least) computer skills /knowledge
- Abides by all safety and health standards
- Properly diagnoses and performs repairs properly
- Must be able to be “on-call” for after hours.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb, and/or sit frequently throughout the duration of the day.
- Able to work in non-temperature-controlled environments.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience repairing electric pallet jacks a plus
