Status & Salary: Non-Exempt, In office, and $50,000
SUMMARY OF ROLE:
Manage all phases of the pre-litigation stage of a personal injury case including client contact, adjuster contact, demand review and negotiation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- When assigned a new case, do a thorough initial review of the case file.
- Responsible for monthly file reviews.
- Responsible for client communication from retention to settlement.
- Responsible for adjuster contact.
- Responsible for client call-backs within 24 hours.
- Responsible for addressing all questions/requests about cases from paralegals and legal assistants within 48 hours.
- Responsible for negotiation of pre-litigation settlements under attorney supervision.
- Responsible for drafting settlement memos for review by a supervising attorney.
- Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- Responsible to meet with clients and do in person disbursements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Is proficient in MS Office programs.
- Legal research and writing experience
- Attention to detail
- Has demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Typing speed of at least 65 wpm
- Has the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Is able to problem solve without supervision or guidance.
- Has a high level of professionalism.
- Is able to maintain confidentiality and to use discretion in all interactions.
- Has excellent time management skills.
- Has proven ability to meet deadline requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates Degree degree or paralegal certificate.
- 1 year + of experience as a bodily injury adjuster or personal injury paralegal
- 1-2 years of senior customer service or paralegal experience or the equivalent combination of education and on the job experience.
- Highly efficient with computers, computer software (Microsoft Office applications Excel, Word), and with a keystroke at least 65 wpm.
- Knowledge and experience with other relevant forms of data technology, including the use of email and case management software or other data input software.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and other pre-employment screening
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual English/ Spanish

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is characteristic of a standard office environment. Electrical hazards related to frequent contact with office equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
