The Outside Sales Rep is the primary contact for all assigned warehouse distributors within their area of responsibility. To best serve our customers, the incumbent should be centrally located within their assigned territory in an area that spans the market area. The position of Outside Sales is primarily responsible for building the territory revenue consisting of accounts in Southern California (Inland Empire, High Desert, Ventura County, Bakersfield) by visiting and working with current and potential distributors, driving sales and profitability.
Responsibilities Include
· Increase business with existing distributors through increased line penetration and new product sales, maintaining relationships to ensure products are properly represented and promoted.
· Work with current and potential customers to gain new distribution and optimize inventory within existing categories
· Identify potential new distributors and inform them on Automann’s offering.
· Train distributors and fleets on the company products, catalogues, and website as needed.
· Plan and make visits to distributors and prospects on weekly basis
· Submit weekly call reports on visits that include opportunities, complaints, and new product requests
· Submit weekly expense reports with appropriate documentation
· Train distributors on how to use print catalogues and website
· Address customer queries and concerns promptly
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge about company products and services
· Make sales calls with distributors to fleets or call on fleets alone as required
Desired Skills & Qualifications
· Strong knowledge of Heavy Duty Truck Components and Specifications
· Analyzes market statistics to develop sales campaigns and create sales quotas
· General understanding of basic business practices
· Skilled negotiator and effective communicator, both verbally and written, responsible for negotiating and implementing agreements
· Proactive and driven self-starter who can thrive in remote work environment
· Ability to travel 50% or more, including weekend travel when needed
· Minimum 3-5 years’ related experience
· Problem solving and multi-task abilities
· Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
· Self-motivated with ability to prioritize and pay attention to detail
· Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and pay attention to detail
· Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
Education
· BS or equivalent industry experience
· Technical or Industrial product knowledge required
