Job Summary: Aphena Pharma Solutions is searching for a self-motivated, driven, and strong networking Business Development Manager to grow the Solid Dose Packaging Division. This position will report directly to the VP of Sales and will be focused on building new business relationships for Aphena in Cookeville, Tennessee.
The BD Manager will attend trade events and utilize online services to grow and gain access to potential Aphena customers. The BD manager will be responsible for completing an on-site training program to grasp all company capabilities, assets, quality systems, and sales strategies to focus their presentations skills.
This is not an account maintenance role, but a new sales portfolio development role set for a self-motivated individual that loves to win and build success which will in turn, lead to their compensation goals. The BD Manager must represent Aphena in the most professional manner in appearance and communications, including verbal, written, in-person, and video calls.
Essential Functions/Requirements:

Implement sales plans for new and existing customers to exceed sales targets set by the CEO

Manage or co-manage customer product launches.

Screen customers and understand hidden value or concerns

Gain valuable insight and information from a customer to best position Aphena to win

Track and understand market conditions and trends that can affect Aphena’s ability to secure new business and grow existing business.

Build long-term relationships with customers to learn their needs, pain points, intentions, and become a trusted partner for them for packaging services.

Prepare monthly sales reports showing new Sales activity, RFQ’s, sales volume, potential sales, lost sales, and insight to improve results.

Work with customers and Aphena internal staff to resolve issues and seek solutions.

Serve as a packaging advisor to customers, seek to find solutions to problems and gain trust and confidence with customers and internal staff.

Represent Aphena at trade association meetings, shows, and conferences to promote our services and network with new and existing contacts.

5+ Plus Years in the Pharma Services Industry with a focus on Packaging.

Basic understanding of packaging machinery and overall quality systems.

Bachelor’s Degree or 10 Years of Sales Experience

Strong Knowledge of FDA cGMP Requirements

General knowledge of Pharmaceutical Contract Services Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, MS Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required.
