GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Choice Operations Specialist will assist the Choice Project Manager and Data & Learning Analyst in the day-to-day operations, administration, and strategic execution and oversight of the Choice Neighborhoods Planning Grant. The Choice Neighborhood Planning Grant was awarded to Lift Orlando in September 2023. This two-year planning grant, in partnership with Orlando Housing Authority and the City of Orlando, works with residents, community leaders, and partner organizations to develop a Community Transformation Plan centered around two public housing projects located in the 32805 ZIP Code: Lorna Doone Apartments and Lake Mann Homes. This role will provide project management, strategic planning, and community engagement and serve all the organizational and administrative needs related to the project, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, taking minutes, organizing and sharing digital files, and general upkeep to all data points needed for the Planning Grant.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Data and Document Management
- Oversee the management and organization of project documentation, including meeting minutes, transcriptions, decision processes, debriefs, and photos in the Choice Neighborhood Planning process.
- Support the coding and organization of qualitative data such as interviews, story harvests, transcripts, and open-ended questions.
- Provide day-to-day support to the Lift Orlando Data Analyst regarding Choice data.
Community Engagement and Event Coordination
- Plan, organize, and facilitate meetings and events, ensuring they are productive and aligned with the project goals.
- Ensure effective communication and dissemination of meeting minutes, outcomes, and project updates to all stakeholders.
- Coordinate and schedule residents and stakeholders for storytelling video sessions,
- Foster strong relationships with residents, community leaders, and partner organizations to build trust and ensure active participation.
- Mediate conflicts and manage challenging personalities within the community, fostering constructive dialogue and resolution.
- Oversee the distribution and management of incentives, such as gift cards, to encourage resident participation in surveys and community feedback initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor's degree and related work experience preferred.
Demonstrated Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrated strength in multi-tasking, organizing, and prioritizing work with solid attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities and demands.
- Proficiency in Dropbox, Google Suite, and Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel/Google Sheets.
- Demonstrated capability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
