The Role:
We're seeking an experienced Substation Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance and repair activities for interconnection substations, transmission lines, and medium voltage (MV) systems throughout the US. This role involves managing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of substation equipment and protective relaying systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement substation maintenance programs
- Manage maintenance schedules and procedures for HV, substation, and protective relaying systems
- Coordinate with internal teams and contractors for maintenance activities
- Oversee qualification and training of substation technicians
- Ensure compliance with NERC standards and industry best practices
- Manage spare parts inventory and equipment selection
- Respond to and resolve maintenance issues promptlyQualifications:
- Extensive experience in substation maintenance and protective relaying
- Knowledge of SCADA, DAS, and UPS systems
- Familiarity with digital relays, meters, and associated testing procedures
- Understanding of electrical codes and safety standards
- Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
- Willingness to travel and work on-call as neededPreferred:
- Experience with SEL relays and Accelerator Quickset software
- OSHA 30 HR Training
- NFPA 70E and NESC certifications
Location:Remote-based position, preferably in Texas, Dallas or Houston. Some travel required of up to 20%
