Summary/Objective
The Electrical Engineer position designs electrical systems for residential and commercial buildings.
Essential Job Functions
- Engineering from conceptual design phase through construction.
- Attend meetings with clients and take diligent notes.
- Attending job site walks to observe existing conditions and construction progress.
- Basis of design writing and specification writing.
- Working knowledge of the following codes & standards: California Electrical Code, California Building Code, California Energy Code, Californian Green Building Code, SDG&E and Utility Standards, NFPA 101 & 110, ADA Standards for Accessible Design- Code of Regulations (ADA) and Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA).
- Ability to read construction documents and design electrical power systems including the following:
- Switchgear, switchboards, panel boards, transformers, feeder sizing, panel schedules, branch circuiting, and grounding.
- Ability to design lighting systems including the following:
- Photometrics, light fixture specifications, lighting controls
- Title 24 calculations
- Ability to perform Electrical Engineering Calculations including voltage drop, fault current, and arc flash.
- Provide responses to Requests for Information (RFI’s) and submittal reviews.
- Performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives. Work is reviewed for the application of sound professional judgment.
- Ability to climb ladders and survey construction sites.
- And all other tasks assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently sits at a desk, working on a keyboard or mouse to design drawings in a computer.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, hybrid position. Employees are onsite Tuesday/Thursday and are allowed to work remotely Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You may select your shift schedule, but you must start between 7:00am-9:00am each day.
Travel
May be required to travel within a 50-mile radius, and occasionally further when projects are outside of this area.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or equivalent 5 years of experience.
- Licensed to drive in CA.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $109,884.00 - $129,142.00 per year
