JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate degree in Nursing or higher is required.
· Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
· Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) and (ACLS) Health Care Provider is required during the hiring.

JOB OVERVIEW:
· Assisting in circulating in the OR during surgeries.
· Assisting in the delivery and management of patient care ensuring compliance with physician orders and established policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
· Ensuring compliance with organizational, regulatory policies and procedures for assigned clinical practice areas. Supports organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
· Working with the Center administrator, Director of Nursing, Charge Nurse and physician(s) to design, implement and evaluate care delivery models that improve patient outcomes.
· Ensuring the consistent delivery of evidence-based practice standards that are congruent with current national trends for ambulatory nursing care.
· Cultivating exemplary customer service throughout the facility.
· Working with Director of Nursing or the Charge Nurse to identify and achieve compliance with clinical indicators that support the organization's strategic initiatives or plan.
· Develops and mentors team members. Facilitates and supports team member involvement in professional and organizational activities.
· Identifying and reporting issues arising from individual differences and develops an awareness of those issues in nursing staff, medical staff and other health care providers.
· Advocating on behalf of the nursing staff to represent the concerns of patients, families and staff.
· Monitoring operational expenses to stay within the established budget.
· Performing direct patient care activities as required to meet operational needs.
· Ensuring safe patient care within the peri-op unit. Ensuring that proper patient identification, time outs, resources, and supplies are available to maintain a safe environment.
· Promoting/supporting growth of others through precepting, mentoring, and orientation when appropriate. Serves as a positive, clinical role model to facilitate staff development, providing pertinent feedback to manager or designee.
· Keeping the surgical area clean and organized for the scrub and the physician; removes instruments and sponges as they are used during the procedure.
· Assisting in room turnover process and that the surgical room is sterile and safe for the patient. Ensuring that the goals of the unit are met and maintained to provide for better room utilization.
· Maintaining environment and supply inventory, including assuring the procurement of necessary supplies, equipment and expertise, and the timely delivery of needed care, and alerting administration of these needs in a timely manner.
· Preparing the patient for the procedure and handles the preparation for the operating room including educating the patient before the surgery takes place and participates in patient handoff during times of transition.
· Engaging in helping to ensure that OR metrics, process improvement, work processes, providing solutions and actions plans to reach departmental metrics and goals.
· Assessing the patient’s condition before a surgical procedure and works with a physician to develop the care plan for the patient during the surgery.
