Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Technicians (Central Florida)
Florida based Engineering and Maintenance Services Firm is looking for several fulltime ITS Technicians to perform a variety of tasks in central Florida. The positions will be based at Sanford, Florida.
Job Description: Duties of this technician will include Perform on-site or in-house servicing, repair and/or installation of ITS/Traffic product(s). This job may include any aspect of field support and installation, and is not limited to electrical, data, and fiber optic cable installation; conduit and pull box installation; and pole and foundation installation. Determine most effective means to install equipment to maximize efficiency. Recording and documenting work for projects, maintaining compliance standards and plans and documents, and providing technical assistance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Familiar with ITS field device such as DMS, CCTV, MVDS, RSU, Traffic Signal Controller, fiber optic and power systems.
- Installs equipment including but not limited to cameras, detectors, controller cabinets.
- Installs electrical conductor, data conductor, and fiber optic cable.
- Installs pull boxes, conduit, poles and foundations.
- Connects conductors to equipment to make equipment work correctly.
- Connects electrical conductors to power services to energize equipment.
- Tests devices to ensure they work correctly.
- Prepares logs to keep track of field conditions and installation activities.
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 2 - 10 years of related experience. Salary commensurate with experience.
Required Skills:
- Must have at least 1 year of experience in maintaining ITS field device such as Traffic Signal Controller, DMS, CCTV, MVDS, RSU, fiber optic and power systems.
- Basic computer and networking skills

- IMSA Certified
- MOT Certification
- Fiber Optic Fusion Splicing and troubleshooting

Pay: $40,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
