The An-Cockrell Lab at the University of Vermont is looking to fill a Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) funded position to design, program and execute machine learning models using modern tools (e.g., Sagemaker) in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) secure environment. These models will operate on data from electronic health records and medical sensors for the purpose of predicting the need for Life Saving Interventions.
Design, program and execute machine learning models using modern tools (e.g., Sagemaker) in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) secure environment. Use data from electronic health records and medical sensors to predict the need for Life Saving Interventions. Analyze results and provide data to be used in continued research proposals and submissions. Exercise discretion and judgement while maintaining the security of this information, protecting individual’s privacy and educating constituents and others due to the sensitivity of the information, thereby ensuring the maintenance of strict confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Desirable Qualifications
Demonstrated track record of working well with a multi-disciplinary team of researchers.
Masters Degree in engineering, computer science, physics or mathematics is preferred.
Anticipated Pay Range
$75,000 to $100,000
Special Conditions
Contingent on continued funding, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, Bargaining unit position, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, Background Check required for this position
