The Preschool Office Assistant is responsible for assisting with Preschool clerical duties including but not limited to answering phone calls, filing paperwork, tracking tuition and fees, and purchasing supplies.

Essential Functions*
- Performs basic office administration including filing, copying, answering telephones, responding to mail, email, supply purchases, and tracking of tuition, fees and registration.
- Compiles, copies, sorts and files Preschool records and other important documentation as required by Department of Children and Families (DCF), Voluntary PreKindergarten(VPK) and NAEYC Accreditation.
- Performs confidential clerical work related to Preschool records and files.
- Assists in the licensing process for Department of Children and Families (DCF) and accurately maintains all licensing documents.
- Exhibits proficiency in ticketing software including all preschool data input, data retrieval and report printing.
- Process all POs and credit charges by month end and purchase supplies in accordance with OSC policies and procedures.
- Ensure all materials are purchased and ordered in a timely manner. Ordering and purchasing may be online or at a store.
- Maintain all preschool supply areas and ensure the workspaces are kept neat and organized.
- Shows exceptional customer service and communication skills (verbal and written) with internal and external customers.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the Orlando Science Center Preschool and other Science Center offerings.
- Demonstrates commitment to OSC’s vision, mission, guiding principles and values.
- Maintains a professional attitude at all times.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications*
- Education: High school diploma or higher degree.
- Experience & Certifications: Knowledge of common office machines and skill in their operation. General understanding of computer systems. Customer service skills. Communication (verbal and written) skills. Cash handing experience. Experience working with children ages 0-8 years old.

Preferred Qualifications*
- 45 hours DCF mandated childcare courses (must be able to provide a current DCF transcript)
- Reliable, organized, self-starter.
- Ability to work with little supervision.

Expected Hours of Work & Travel*
- This position is full time and primarily works Monday – Friday. This position will be scheduled 40 hours per week between the hours of 7:30am-6pm.
