Direct Support Professional (DSP) ensures the health and safety of program participants by providing varying levels of personal care within a community home setting including cooking, cleaning, transportation, community engagement, supporting goals, and accurate documentation of care. This position is responsible for assisting in the development of independent living skills, behavior strategies, self-advocacy and prepares participants to become more independent in their homes and communities.

- participate in ongoing professional development in-service trainings
- participate in supervision as determined by the supervisor
- complete the minimum (24hrs) of annual professional development training hours in accordance with regulatory guidelines
Additional DSP responsibilities
- Reviewing documentation for accuracy and reporting needs and changes to the supervisor
- Attend ISP meeting and engage in plan development that improves the quality of life of the individuals serviced
- Can be Scheduled responsibilities to ensure staff to individuals meets staffing needs
- Support individuals by role modeling positive pro-social behavior
Essential Qualifications
- Education/Experience: High School diploma and at least TWO full years (time must be concurrent with no gaps in employment) of relevant work experience required.
- Valid and current driver’s license and personal auto insurance.
- Clearances : State Police/FBI per state regulations; Act 33/34, clear criminal history,
- Physical ability : must be able to go up and down steps, lift and carry at least 25 lbs., stand, sit.
- Valid driver's license
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred required
- Physical and TB test
- Ability to pass a background check and, if applicable, FBI clearance.
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds
- Ability to complete one-person transfers with a wheelchair.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
