Terminal Manager

Job Description:
The Columbus Terminal Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, including managing staff, coordinating shipments, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and optimizing logistics to maximize efficiency and profitability. The manager will also handle budgeting, scheduling, and maintenance of terminal facilities and equipment. Effective communication and leadership skills are essential to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction. This position requires a strong understanding of the transportation industry, problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, guide, and direct terminal employees to include setting goals, monitoring performance, providing coaching, counseling, and development.
- Will load/unload frieght; move freight, work on warehouse floor frequently.
- Accountable for the management of an efficient, clean, and safe terminal operation.
- Responsible for all hiring, disciplinary actions, training, and coaching of all terminal drivers, both owner operators and employees.
- Enforce understanding and compliance with all Company policies and procedures, safety rules and government regulations.
- Support customer relationships, oversee profit and cost controls, and ensure safety, service, and quality measures are implemented, audited, and monitored for corrections.
- Manage / oversee all terminal functions to include dock operations and timely freight deliveries.
- Responsible for vendor management and equipment management within the terminal to include trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
- Responsible for meeting all the KPI's set forth by Rush.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of Terminal Management or similar role
- CDL A is a plus but not required
- Must have good computer skills
- Experience using Microsoft Excel
- Proven leadership, team building and interpersonal relationship skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Schedule
Weekdays from 6am - 3pm with extended hours as needed.
