Our client, a large NYC government agency is seeking a skilled and experienced Field Project Manager to manage day-to-day activities and support a Connectivity Refresh (CR) Project across various refresh sites in NYC.
The candidate will be responsible for overseeing integration work, managing vendors, and ensuring project deliverables are met within the specified time frame.
This is an 18-month contract position with the client. You would come onboard as our W2.
Flexible hours, potential outside normal business hours, administrative business hours between 7 AM to 5 PM when feasible.
This position requires the candidate report daily to Metrotech Center, Brooklyn, NY.
Awarded Candidate will be required to travel to refresh sites that are assigned to within the 5 boroughs of NYC daily (additional travel costs will be reimbursed).
Job Responsibilities:
Manage daily activities required to support the CR Project
- Partner with client integrators to conduct site surveys for integration, cabling work, and network hardware for LAN/WAN/Wireless
- Oversee client vendors in the field to ensure all project goals are met
- Coordinate and direct integration work at each refresh site
- Organize external on-site meetings with schools and vendors related to the site’s refresh
- Compile documentation for site refresh records, including site surveys and BOM requirement validation
- Document risks, issues, and update status and resolutions for the client program manager
- Serve as the representative and point of contact for the client Senior Program Manager of the overall CR Project
- Maintain client's central repository for CR-related project documents
- Update project-related documents as needed to ensure client fiscal and Capital responsibilities are met
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of Project Management experience in the data network industry
- Minimum of 6 years of on-site Field Project Management of Network Infrastructure Installation and Deployment projects
- Minimum of 5 years of Customer Service and Client-facing experience, interacting with end-users and vendors in the field
- Minimum of 6 years of experience documenting project deliverables
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Visio, Excel, Project)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or a Master’s degree in computer science/telecommunications from an accredited college
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate credibly and confidently at all levels in the organization, especially on technical issues to a non-technical audience
- Detailed and process-oriented

- Candidates must have a fully functioning laptop and cellular phone; these will not be provided
- Integration work may be conducted outside of normal business hours to minimize disruptions at refresh sites, requiring a flexible work schedule
