Advanced Architectural Products, marker of SMARTci Hamilton MI, is continually growing and is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position requires at least 5-10 years of relevant manufacturing maintenance experience, the ability to work independently and the desire to play an active role in daily maintenance of the facility working with operating equipment for pultruded fiberglass products and resin/polymer mixtures.
Responsibilities
· Troubleshoot, repair and maintain a variety of industrial machinery
· Read and understand manuals and schematics
· General building maintenance experience and be able to read mechanical drawings
· Process machine maintenance, answering downtime calls safely and efficiently
· Scheduling of machine downtime and preventive maintenance
· Process machine launch and development
· Work with and understand machine controls
· Research equipment or component needs sources, competitive prices, delivery times, or ongoing operational costs
· Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts and repair with minimal downtime
· Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work
· Maintain systems logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment
· Install, replace, or change machine parts according to production specifications
· Maintain and repair building systems – HVAC, dust collection, ventilation, equipment air systems & equipment
· Repairing or re-routing shop power sources such as electric, air and water
· Repair small shop tools as needed, such grinders, buffers, saws, etc.
· Must be able to build or rebuild machinery as necessary
Qualifications
· Proficient in electrical schematics
· Must be able to read/write and perform basic mathematical calculations
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
Education & Experience
· Journeyman Machine repair trade
· 5-10 years demonstrated maintenance hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
· High school diploma or degree a plus
· Electrical troubleshooting experience, a must
· Licensed electrician or in the process of acquiring a license or certification, a plus
