Job Description: QA Manager
Location: Baie-d'Urfe, QC
Job Summary:
The QA Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our company's Food Safety and Quality programs meet or exceed the required standards and requirements set by the company and our customers. Reporting directly to the Regional Manager of Quality and Food Safety Canada, the QA Manager will collaborate closely with various departments such as Operations, Sales, Logistics, and Engineering/Maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP/Preventive Control Plans and Food Safety and Quality programs
- Lead audits, including GFSI Certification and customer audits
- Oversee Foreign Material Prevention initiatives
- Work closely with Operations, Logistics, Production, and Engineering/Maintenance departments to uphold Food Safety and Quality programs
- Lead the Internal audit program and present findings during daily and weekly meetings. Ensure timely closure of CAPAs
- Continuously improve quality systems by enhancing HACCP/Preventive Control Plans and Food Safety and Quality programs according to the BRC Standard
- Provide immediate feedback to the management team regarding food safety and quality issues
- Serve as the main contact for regulatory agencies and third-party auditors
- Motivate and recognize employees to foster a strong Food Safety Culture within the facility
- Address and communicate customer/consumer complaints to the management team on a daily and weekly basis
- Handle all customer communication and requests
- Keep Regional Manager QA and Food Safety Canada informed of any problems, issues, or concerns
- Perform other assigned duties and projects
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications/Experience:
- Hold a post-secondary education in food science, chemistry, or related fields
- Possess 3-5 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry
- Have at least 3-5 years of experience as a QA Manager
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrate solid knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and GFSI principles and programs. BRC and HACCP certification is considered an asset
- Exhibit excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and statistical software
- Possess a good working knowledge of Statistical Process Control in an industrial environment
- Be a fast learner with the ability to multitask. Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual candidates are preferred
- Have a positive attitude and professional approach, fostering productive relationships based on credibility and trust with all plant employees
- Demonstrate the ability to multitask and work in a highly organized manner, paying close attention to detail and accuracy
- Have a good understanding of production, both in plant and office procedures
- Be a proven leader with strong leadership skills and a track record of team development
