Job Summary:
Installs, operates, programs, and maintains hardware and software for various network systems, including audio, radio, microwave, and video systems. Evaluates and recommends new technologies. Assesses networking needs and designs systems to meet objectives.
Education/Experience:
- Technical program in electronic technology, telecommunications, networking, or computer science; or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years as a Senior Network Administrator or equivalent; or 6 years relevant experience; or 75 undergraduate quarter credits in telecommunications or computer science and 3 years' experience.
Licensure/Certification:
Essential Functions:
- Programs, analyzes, and resolves network systems' software and hardware issues.
- Evaluates new technologies and makes recommendations for improvements and cost-saving measures.
- Assesses network needs, explains costs and benefits, designs systems, and coordinates installations.
- Provides technical support, schedules maintenance, and assists with networking systems.
- Analyzes cost-effectiveness and suggests ways to improve system performance.
- Coordinates equipment changes, implements software updates, schedules vendor services, and manages inventory.
- Installs and tests telecommunication components.
- Responds to technical emergencies during 24-hour on-call duty.
- Promotes a cooperative work environment by following hospital and departmental policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
