Central Illinois’ Largest Privately Owned Floor Covering Retailer Is looking for a full-time Receiving and Shipping Clerk
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving and Shipping Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Proficient Computer Skills
- At least 21 years of age
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receiving and cataloging incoming product.
- Managing computer-based inventory software.
- Follows and maintains operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials and assists in keeping warehouse inventory current.
- Receive incoming shipments and verify the contents against purchase orders or invoices
- Update inventory records and maintain accurate stock levels
- Prepare incoming/outgoing shipments by printing and labeling items
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
- Perform basic math calculations to verify quantities and weights of shipments
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks to move goods within the warehouse
- Sort, label, and store received items in designated areas as needed
- Responsible for creating and communicating Receiving/Shipping errors to the proper agents/sales associates/purchasing.
- Monitor the staff’s inspection of shipments for accuracy.
- Track late trucks or no shows.
- Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance appropriate for the position and the situation.
- Maintain good working relationship with internal and external customers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the facility and office area.
- Keep, all information pertaining to our operations (products, customers, production details, etc.) confidential
- Prepares all necessary paperwork and documentation for the receiving of material from vendors and the processing of work orders.
- Develops and maintains a good working relationship with all internal departments and with all outside suppliers and service providers.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Assist with inventory as directed.
- Obtain, maintain and participate in all licensing, safety and OSHA requirements.
- Other duties may also be assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
