The Role:
As the Chief Architect, you will play a pivotal role in the development, implementation, and execution of strategies for O&M Tier 3 break-fix support and Agile Software development across SEVIS Core, SEVP Portal Maintenance, Information Sharing (Interfaces)AI/I-515, and POAM Resolution. You will serve as the lead technical resource, responsible for mentoring and guiding other technical team members. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the successful implementation of initiatives across SEVIS applications and interfaces, resolving technical conflicts or disagreements, and providing strategic direction for architecture design and implementation.
The Chief Architect at STS will:
- Develop, implement, and execute strategies for O&M Tier 3 break-fix support and Agile Software development across SEVIS applications and interfaces.
- Lead technical resources and mentor other team members to ensure the successful implementation of initiatives.
- Resolve technical conflicts or disagreements between Senior IT System Solutions Architects (Cloud, Infrastructure, Database).
- Provide strategic direction for architecture design and implementation to minimize technical debt and improve overall velocity.
- Design solutions with a Microservices software architecture and implement the MVC Development Methodology (Model/View/Controller).
- Develop and manage data models using tools such as CA Erwin or similar, and maintain data dictionaries.
- Design and implement solutions compliant with National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) standards and Federal Information Management Security Act (FISMA) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Security Standards.
- Design and implement Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions using Microsoft Active Directory and Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards.
- Optimize system performance and resource utilization through log and monitoring analysis.
- Analyze business requirements and design specifications for technical solutions.
- Provide technical expertise in SQL for data integrity validation and other data constraints.
Education and Experience:
Required
- Bachelor's degree with ten (10) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment OR No Bachelor's Degree with twelve (12) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment.
- Proficient in network communication protocols, ports, routing, proxy settings, and firewall policies.
- Experience applying The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) in Agile solution designs.
- Experience with DevOps pipeline tools including configuration management, requirements (e.g., JIRA), automated testing, and deployment.
- Experience developing interfaces compliant with National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) standards.
- Familiarity with pricing and licensing models of major enterprise software platforms.
- Proven ability to develop root cause analysis and problem resolution.
- Technical proficiency in designing and implementing data center/cloud-based hosting solutions.

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional
