Peraton is seeking a Senior Network Engineer Team Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the United States Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) in maintaining its information technology (IT) enterprise infrastructure. This individual will have a background in Dev Ops concepts.
Remote role. Must be local to the DC Metro area.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure network architectures.
- Ensure the integration of new technologies into existing network structures.
- Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices.
- Implement and optimize routing protocols and VLANs.
- Collaborate with the security team to integrate security measures into the network design.
- Monitor network security, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities.
- Optimize network performance for high availability, reliability, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network-related issues.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements.
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
Basic Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship and must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance.
- Bachelor's degree and 12 years’ of experience or a Master's degree and 10 years of experience or a High School Diploma and 16 years of experience.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience as an Enterprise Architect, specializing in network infrastructure services, with at least 4 years focused on cloud technologies like Azure and AWS. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years' experience designing critical network infrastructure for large and complex networks.
- Proficiency in infrastructure and network automation platforms and coding.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise solutions to enhance availability and security.
- Experience in developing technology roadmaps.
- Expert understanding of network technologies, including SDN, SDWAN, routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, application load balancing, and network visibility.
- Extensive knowledge of network practices and protocols.
- Hands-on experience with on-premise physical infrastructure and Virtualization technologies.
- Expertise in route optimization, dynamic routing, packet aggregation, IPV6, and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
- Extensive experience with networking and security methods and tools.
- Ability to perform network troubleshooting at an SME level.
- Familiarity with major networking products from companies like Cisco, Juniper, and VMWare, deployed via major cloud providers.
- Experience with managing and utilizing DevOps concepts.
- Current relevant certification: CCIE, with a commitment to continuous certification updates as credentials evolve.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $142,272.41 - $160,000.00 per year
