PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primarily responsible for leading and managing Wayne Farms’ Fresh Sales activities through the development and implementation of sales plans to achieve pricing, mix, volume growth, conversion to programmed accounts and profit, in line with company goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Develop and implement strategic growth plan(s) to fully commit product for food services, wholesale markets, and value add processing

Participate in development of Wayne Farms’ overall strategic sales plan; implement plan to fullest achieving targeted plan volume and margin goals

Build and maintain current customer relationships for selling all available product and actively solicit new business expanding customer base across all business segments

Assess and make recommendations for converting customers to programmed accounts

Provide direction in effectively managing the sales mix within assigned region providing maximum profit margins
-
Develop additional value added products which expand program sales and create margin for Wayne Farms and our customers (e.g. trimmed boneless products, ABF applications, x-ray, sized and sorted products, etc.).

Serve as a leader in maintaining customer focus and ensuring an acceptable level of customer satisfaction across customer base

Monitor and analyze sales growth for competitive opportunities within assigned region; make recommendations to increase customer base, product sales and/or profit margins though appropriate decision making

Partner with the Business Development Manager to seamlessly transition the management of new accounts from the Business Development Mgr within assigned region

May direct “Sales Representative(s)” day-to-day activities communicating strategic sales plans and Company sales goals to ensure optimization of sales and profit margins

Mentor, coach and train/ cross-train employees encouraging career development; provide consistent feedback concerning strengths and areas in need of improvement

Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a Leader of People position with required competencies: Sizing up People, Delegation, Planning, Customer Focus and Conflict Management
EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:
-
High School diploma or equivalent with some college work; Bachelors’ degree in Business, Poultry Science, Agricultural Science or other relevant field preferred
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
-
Minimum three (3) years’ relevant sales experience within the poultry or protein industry, with specific sales account knowledge

Knowledge of the fresh and prepared foods products and markets including outside supplier base for prepared foods products

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to positively influence new and existing customers

Strong computer skills with the ability to work with multiple Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.)

Ability to apply knowledge of market strategies, budgets, pricing strategies, and general economics to quickly identify new business and customer opportunities

Ability to learn and utilize sales techniques

Must have the ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, with internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize

Ability to work collaboratively with others, possessing tact and discretion and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality in all matters

Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
