The General Manager of the processing facility is responsible for overseeing all operations. This person is responsible for all company assets including processing equipment, delivery trucks, physical plant, and management of inventory. Must be able to coordinate engineering, production, and logistics departments to effectively implement preventative maintenance programs. Coordinating cost effective and efficient operations of the plant while ensuring a safe work environment for associates, management, vendors, and visitors. This person has responsibility and oversight of all staff. This person must communicate with the customer base.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direction of the management of the areas of receiving, processing and delivery
- Managing, developing, and training of the staff to ensure processing of a quality product
- Fiscal management of costs and expenses for the production facility
- The ability to forecast expenses and budget and maintain the operations
- Responsibility for coordinating training, regulatory compliance, staffing, payroll & benefit administration for all personnel; managers, leads, production workers, drivers, maintenance personnel, and janitorial staff.
- Production of accurate internal and external billing for services provided, maintaining proper accounting methods and account receivable/collections activities with the client
- Produce accurate weekly reporting
- Ability to read and interpret a P&L statement to include budget responsibilities
- Responsible for plant safety and overseeing the regulatory compliance for all required agencies including municipal agencies – waste water, utilities, accreditation council.
- Manage capital expenditure projects and manage/coordinate installation and operation of new equipment through engineering department and vendors
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS/BA in Management or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 10 years operations/ management experience in operations or manufacturing environment
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications
- The ability to communicate effectively to customer base, upper management, as well as subordinates in written format and oral presentations
- The ability to multi-task and establish priorities and meet deadlines
- The ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
- Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, leadership, and accountability
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures
- The ability to integrate a working environment with customer and administrative needs to meet established goals & objectives
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with the client
