Introduction:
Our client is a local community bank seeking an experienced Commercial / Business Loan Officer to join their Sioux Falls lending team. This position will be among the go-to banking officers in the Siouxland area, reporting directly to the Market President. This role will inherit a multi-million dollar commercial loan portfolio.

Position Overview:
This role is responsible for maintaining and developing client relationships to assist in securing various agriculture, commercial, small business, and other credits. This position has a business development/loan origination focus as a centralized credit/underwriting team assists in performing spreading/credit analysis. Loan committee meets weekly to provide fast turnaround on larger credit decisions. Strong customer service and follow-up will be instrumental in guiding clients through the loan process and ensuring their financial needs are met while limiting the bank's exposure.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with current and prospective clients to assess their loan needs and provide expert advice on available loan options
- Collect and review financial documents from clients to determine their eligibility for loans
- Collaborate with credit and management teams to ensure timely processing and approval of loans
- Negotiate loan terms and conditions with clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the loan process, addressing any concerns or questions from clients
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and changes in lending practices
Requirements:
- 5+ years' proven business/commercial lending experience
- Credit analysis/underwriting background is beneficial but not necessary
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
- Bachelors or graduate degree in Business or related field (preferred)
