WEEKEND RESPITE CAREGIVER NEEDED (Plover/Biron/WI. Rapids)
Do you have a flexible weekend schedule? Are you interested in making some extra money to pad your pockets? If you have experience working with those with developmental disabilities, this opportunity might be for you.
Community Horizons is assisting a wonderful family in the Plover/Biron/Wisconsin Rapids area in finding the perfect caregiver for their middle-aged daughter who has developmental disabilities and is nonverbal. The goal is to keep her active in the community while providing weekend respite to Mom and Dad. If you have a flexible weekend schedule and enjoy going into the community to shop, go for walks, or just go sightseeing, please consider sharing your time with someone else who likes to do the same.
Wage: $16.00 per hour
Hours:
· Up to 32 hours per month
(No set hours. Hours will be determined month to month based on family needs and your personal schedule)
· Potential for day, afternoon, evening, and overnight hours.
· Occasional daytime pick-up shifts during the week may also be available.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Community Integration: Trips to various places in the community to get exercise and maintain this member’s independence and comfort level in social settings.
- Visit places such as the community center, library, stores, and parks for walking, shopping, and sightseeing activities.
- Personal care as needed
- Minor food prep
- Coordinating appropriate activities
Ideal Candidates will possess:
- A Calm, Caring, Patient, Positive and Motivated Attitude
- Understanding and Compassionate
- Someone who can just “Go with the Flow”
- Developmentally disabled/healthcare background
- Experience working with nonverbal individuals
- Familiarity with those who experience anxiety
- Have a valid driver's license/reliable transportation.
- Favorable Wisconsin background check.

Who is Community Horizons
Community Horizons offers support for individuals enrolled in self-directed programs through Managed Care Organizations or IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct) throughout Wisconsin. Self-direction gives program participants the choice over who provides services and how they receive them. Community Horizons is not the employer on record, members make all hiring decisions with the involvement of a third-party fiscal agent responsible for payroll.
