SHIFT HOURS: 2nd Shift, Monday to Friday, 02:00pm- 10:30pm
The Material Handler is integral to our warehouse operations. You are organized, dependable and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for handling the movement of inbound ingredients and corrugate materials, staging materials for the production team, moving palletized finished goods into our warehouse, and fulfilling sales orders for outbounds shipments to customers while prioritizing food and equipment safety.
- Load and unload pallets of product to and from trailers, while safely operating a forklift, in a busy warehouse environment.
- Inbound tasks: Follow established SOPs for receiving controls of ingredients, corrugated packaging materials, and bulk ingredient tankers while meeting Quality Assurance standards.
- Evaluates inbound shipments safely with correct count and conditions. Put-away inbound materials ensuring placards contains correct lot numbers, expiration dates, and allergens in the correct bin through our WMS system.
- Staging & Replenishing tasks: Follow work order pick list instructions from Warehouse & Operations Analyst to stage for manufacturing. Follow SOPs on food and equipment safety practices throughout the production areas. Replenish staging areas in a timely manner following FIFO.
- Help maintain inventory accuracy by ensuring physical inventory movement within the plant matches bin transfers in the WMS.
- Finished Goods Put-away tasks: Keep the finished good isle in the production area as clear as possible by moving finished good products to the warehouse area. Ensure such movements are reflected in the WMS and storage placement follows FIFO.
- Helps re-arrange warehouse pallets locations as needed.
- Outbound tasks: Pick, pack, ship sales orders through the WMS. Verify the accuracy of orders picked and shipments received from returns. Load trailers by following safety protocols. Ensure all pallets are placarded with the correct SO numbers.
- Inventory tasks: Help performing spot, cycle counts, and annual counts of ingredients, corrugate and finish goods as needed.
- Maintains a clean work environment to ensure safety and compliance.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A positive approach and ability to work in a team.
- Prior material-handling or warehouse experience.
- Drive and be willing to be certified in one or more of the material handling equipment as required by job duty. Example equipment in the facility includes: manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack, straddle forklift, sit-down forklift, standup dock loader, double pallet jack
- Thrive in a fast-paced “start-up” environment with coaching support.
- Ability to have a strong understanding of company products and services.
- Willing to learn to use the WMS through a tablet and scanner.
- Detail oriented with organization and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and/or walk extended periods of time up to 8 hours
- Ability to lift items that weigh up to 50lbs
- Ability to reach, pull, push, stoop and bend frequently
- Ability to use ladders to reach high areas
- Peripheral Vision ability for operating a Forklift
Other Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be able to stand on their feet throughout entire shifts.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- General knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety.
